I don't even know how to start this.......he is now 19. He graduated from high school. He is moving out next week. He is going to welding school. He had a check-in appointment with his rheumatologist. Wait....back up. He has been getting IVIG and Tocimizilab infusions every two weeks since we last talked in 2019. His most recent infusion showed labs are up. During his appointment he was showing classic signs of skin involvement.
He has been invited to apply for an adult CAR-T cell trial which has been called a "cure". He will have to pause everything and go to California if accepted. They will take his blood out, modify his cells, and put them back in. He is on board and really hoping he is accepted. I love you Gary!
